Summer Rising High School
Summer Rising High School is a chance for all high school students to make up previously failed courses, complete courses in progress, and participate in academic acceleration. Students will also be able to engage in important work experience and internship opportunities, such as the Summer Youth Employment Program.
High school students will have access to academic and social emotional supports designed locally to meet the unique needs of older students. High schools will design programs that meet the needs of their school communities and are based on student feedback. Programs may be in-person or remote, depending on the subject area and community needs
Dates: July 6 to August 13 (except July 20)
To identify which summer sites are offering specific high school courses, students and families citywide can use the Summer High School Course Finder. This tool allows schools, students, and families to search for summer courses by high school name, zip code, borough, subject, or course type. Students and families should contact schools directly to find out when courses start and end, if space is available, and how to enroll.
